When I first saw the title and thumbnail of this video I thought you were going to destroy Flamingo and I was NOT happy. Very happy to see the objective review. I think online reviews are a combination of isolated experiences, poor guest behavior, and Sore Loser mentality where it somehow gratifies the author to slam something publicly. I haven't stayed at the Flamingo in about 20 years but am glad to see it's mostly the same. Your room was definitely an upgrade, just based on the floorplan alone. I remember when the "GO" rooms were new and how avant garde they were at the time. Those are probably the older rooms now. The pool grounds are beautiful but - and this is so funny - the water was freezing 20 years ago, too! They've GOT to do something about heating those pools; that's ridiculous. One favorite spot in the property now missing is the buffet :( While not incredible food by any means, it had a beautiful huge viewing area out to the flamingos while you dined. I wonder what that space is now. Also, sad about Margaritaville's closing - I always thought it fit very well into the theme of the place. The attached themed casino was great, too - now gutted and apparently becoming something else.

It a very sad, disappointing and frequently maddening thing to realize that this island, which used to be a serene and God-blessed place of beautiful beaches and rare architecture, where painters, sculptors, writers, poets and renowned architects from all over the world chose to visit and admire, has currently been degenerated into an overcrowded, shady place full of ridiculously expensive hotels, over-booked restaurants, exorbitant prices, exorbitantly reach ambiguous personalities and is ridden with wide spread prostitution, drugs and considerable tax evasion incidents. The majority of young Greeks that work there as waiters, cooks, drivers, cleaners, hotel staff, etc. are paid at or below the basic salary (760 euro per month), they are (illegally) not registered as workers, they get no social security, no insurance and they work 12-hour 7-day shifts with no extra remuneration or day-off. Black market and corruption are thriving while, with a little (or-not-so-little) money under the table you can build whatever you wish, wherever you wish with no respect to the urban planning provisions. For the local Mykonians and everybody working there, Mykonos has irreversibly become the Colombia of the Aegean Sea. What a shameful pity.

It is not as good as it was 5-6 years ago. The menu had more selections previously. My favorite is the homemade berry jam. Thanks Matthew!

We are die hard Vegas, lovers and have been going there since 06. Mon ami gabi is a gem and I'm ocd about getting a 7 or 7:30 am Reservation to sit out on the patio. Looking forward to it next week. Love that place the servers are the best.

With the hot weather was is it ok to eat on outside patio?

Thanks Matthew, delicious recommendation. I’m yet to have breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi, we got there too late on our last visit and had to have the lunch menu, but they did have a Croque Madam which was fantastic.

Poor dog is in a state of severe treat deficiency.

Wow! People eat like this type of fancy food is normal for them. I would be even fatter than I am if I ate like that all the time, which is not healthy as you get older. Once in a while as a treat is great, though. We’ve been there and have enjoyed our share of their French onion soup 😊😊

Stayed at the Flamingo for two nights a little over a week ago and for the price I was reasonably happy with it & would likely stay there again. It was very clean & I didn’t see anything that was damaged or falling apart other than that the buttons on one side of one of the elevators didn’t work., I did have the experience that the hot water in the shower only ever got lukewarm & no one came into clean the room but that could very well be because I had the do not disturb sign on the door until about 11am & that may have cost me my chance to get the room cleaned; still slightly annoying but potentially at least partially my own fault. The one other issue I had was largely my own fault (though things could have been a bit more clearly marked) & that was that the parking garages for the Flamingo & for the Cromwell are right next to each other & I accidentally parked in the garage for the Cromwell rather than the one for the Flamingo & it resulted in my overpaying for parking.

This is one of many reasons why Paris does the French theme so well. Fontaine Bleau seems to be French in name only. The inside is just like any other American casino.

Thanks, Matthew! I have eaten at Mon Ami Gabri for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and enjoyed all those meals. Going when they open for breakfast is ideal, as the one downside is how tightly packed together the tables are.

We have yet to try Mon Ami Gabi. Everyone raves. We prefer to hit up off strip gems. But, we love breakfast desserts. Great job guys!

Flamingo has been terrible for years. It used to be my go to place back in the day. Although Vegas is not the same either. I don’t go anymore. I used to go 6 times a year it was a blast so much fun 😀 now no customer service and fee after fee after fee.

I've stayed at the flamingo for the past 2 yrs and going back in Aug. Our room has always been clean and comfortable no worries it's a great place that won't drain the bank plus close to everything

Broadway is a tourist trap, no longer the real Nashville, drinks and parking are insanely expensive. Bartenders pressure you to keep buying drinks. The bands panhandle the crowd for tips which I get bc the bars don’t charge a cover. But yea the locals tend to avoid Broadway.

Thanks Matthew! I used to love Mon Ami and we also didn’t have a great experience after Covid and we tried twice. Plus they removed items from the menu which were our go tos.

I love downtown Vegas ! I usually stay at The D but last year My room was not up to par .Things at the D are looking worn out and theCOMPS were not so good . Going to stay at the Golden Nugget this time . They have a nice pool and I got a better price for 7 days than the D could give me so we will see . I am old and I hate walking for miles . Downtown is perfect. I usually take trip to Valley of fire and there are many other things to do around VEGAS.I just love this area of the USA .
